The greatest scandal of all was the crucifixtion of our Lord. When all his disciples abandoned him, one remained faithful. St. John kept his eyes fixed on Jesus in the midst of the suffering and darkness. St. John also embraced and took Mary into his home. Finally, after the Resurrection, St. John allowed Peter, the first Pope, to be the first to go in the empty tomb even though John arrived their first. In the midst of the darkness and scandals of our day, may we all keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, increase our devotion to our Blessed Mother and defer to the authority of the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II. St. John...pray for us!
