"The central image I walk away with is blood and gore," said Reid, after seeing the movie Feb. 27. "It just doesn't fit what I see in the Gospels."
...Although Jesus' death was violent and painful, to make the quantity of bloodshed the main point is not consistent with the Gospels," Reid said. "The main theme of the Passion in the Gospels is Jesus' submission to the Father's will by giving his life to save humanity from sin.... It isn't about the quantity of blood Jesus spilled."
