LYON, France — A French woman defied a threat of excommunication by the Roman Catholic Church and held a ceremony proclaiming herself a priest on Saturday. In a small ceremony on a boat, Genevieve Beney was joined by other women from around the world who have taken similar dramatic action to draw attention to the church’s policy against women priests.
PADRE POINT: To think I could have saved myself 5 years of seminary and just done this myself? She must have chose Saturday due to a strong devotion to Our Lady (humble, faithful, & OBEDIENT!) I suppose this sort of nonsense will always be among us....thanks be to God for the hierarchical structure of the Church!
