"I would stand there."
U.S. Rep. William Lacy Clay, a Missouri Democrat who favors abortion rights, met with Burke this month to discuss the issue, but neither would release details of their talk.  However, Clay said he would continue taking Communion, and if a priest refused him, "I would stand there."

PADRE POINT:  3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI...please try that at St. Joan of Arc...double dare!

RI CONGRESSMAN JOINS OTHERS in DEFIANCE!
James Langevin believes abortion should be allowed only in cases of rape, incest or if a mother's life is in danger.  "I am very comfortable with my status, and quite frankly, my relationship with God is direct and personal and the church is merely a guest in that relationship," said U.S. Rep. James Langevin, a Democrat from Rhode Island, the state with the nation's highest percentage of Catholics.

PADRE POINT:
Church = MOTHER or GUEST?
One day that relationship will be very direct and personal pal...repent!

Richmond's Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo Cleans House

"...Bishop DiLorenzo has come from the diocese of Hawaii with a strong record of orthodoxy. When he first receiving the news of his transfer DiLorenzo said, "There is no agenda the pope set for me, other than the generic one of: Go make it happen," he said. What "it" was to be has quickly manifested itself.

The bishop has appointed Rev. Russell E. Smith, to the office of Diocesan Theologian which has a mandate to screen potential speakers at parishes and Catholic organizations. The post has remained unfilled since 1998. Smith said that cases would be judged according to standards of Catholic orthodoxy. "Orthodoxy is right teaching. Anything contrary to Catholic teaching will not fly. Don't expect anything about women's ordination in this diocese," he said.

NOW THERE's AN IDEA FOR OUR DIOCESE!!!

Sex Misconduct Common In Schools
"More than 4.5 million students endure sexual misconduct by employees at their schools, from inappropriate jokes all the way to forced sex, according to a report to Congress..."

WHY DIDN'T WE HAVE OUTRAGE OVER THIS STUDY???

"The question for us is not simply whether denial of Communion is possible, but whether it is pastorally wise and prudent (Cardinal McCarrick)."

NOW ALLOW ME TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY FOR THE GOOD CARDINAL...
'The question for us is not simply whether removal of a priest, accused of sexual abuse, is possible but whether it is pastorally wise and prudent (PADRE).'
DID THE NATION, CHURCH or anyone stop and use 100% tolerance for the accused priests (innocent or not)...NO, zero tolerance. NOW, the politicians formnally cooperating in killing unborn children are offered dialogue and 100 tolerance....this makes me sick and the Bishops and Cardinals will answer for this, if not here, get ready on judgment day! The blood of the innocent unborn is on our hands if we remain silent and allow this to go on!
HOW'S THAT FOR A 'PASTORAL' RESPONSE!

Carinal McCarrick says Ratzinger memo not the whole story.

McCarrick: "The question for us is not simply whether denial of Communion is possible, but whether it is pastorally wise and prudent."

PADRE: MY PATIENCE IS RUNNING LOW THESE DAYS!

CARDINAL RATZINGER on COMMUNION & PRO ABORTION POLITICIANS
...at least he knows why he wears the color red!

5. Regarding the grave sin of abortion or euthanasia, when a person’s formal cooperation becomes manifest (understood, in the case of a Catholic politician, as his consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws), his Pastor should meet with him, instructing him about the Church’s teaching, informing him that he is not to present himself for Holy Communion until he brings to an end the objective situation of sin, and warning him that he will otherwise be denied the Eucharist.

6. When “these precautionary measures have not had their effect or in which they were not possible,” and the person in question, with obstinate persistence, still presents himself to receive the Holy Eucharist, “the minister of Holy Communion must refuse to distribute it” (cf. Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts Declaration “Holy Communion and Divorced, Civilly Remarried Catholics” [2002], nos. 3-4). This decision, properly speaking, is not a sanction or a penalty. Nor is the minister of Holy Communion passing judgement on the person’s subjective guilt, but rather is reacting to the person’s public unworthiness to receive Holy Communion due to an objective situation of sin.

KERRY SAID 'LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION'
"I oppose abortion, personally. I don't like abortion. I believe life does begin at conception... (then why did he rally at the abortion march?)
"I can't take my Catholic belief, my article of faith, and legislate it on a Protestant or a Jew or an atheist," he continued in the interview. "We have separation of church and state in the United States of America."

PADRE POINT: This is not a 'Catholic' Issue, but a human rights issue that all people and all religions must stand in favor of innocent life. To state that he believes this way b/c he's 'catholic' misses the whole point! Was slavery or the Holocaust wrong b/c the Church said so? NO, they are human right issues, natural law reveals the horror even for Atheists! Don't be fooled by Kerry's game!
