Splitting faith, politics doesn't apply to abortion, says Archbishop Chaput
"...Abortion is different. Abortion kills"
(Short and to the point!)
Good article...the Archbishop is right on target!

SICK and DEMENTED!!!
Just when you thought you heard it all....
now there's a bib for sale by cafepress.com, reading, 'I Love Abortion.'
The worshippers of Baal (child sacrifice) had nothing on our modern culture of death!

Fr. Richard John Neuhaus' thoughts on denying communion to pro abort pols.
"Rome has made it clear. ... It's intrinsically evil to take innocent human life," he said, adding that the abortion issue "is singular and it does have priority" over issues like the minimum wage, capital punishment or the war in Iraq.
Among the U.S. bishops "the center has moved dramatically," he said."The issue now is not whether this will be publicly addressed," he explained, but how to address it and to make policy decisions "in the case of persistent, unrepentant, public and scandalous defiance of the church's teaching that will range from urging the person not to present himself or herself for Communion to publicly refusing Communion (to that person). That is a great move on the part of the bishops. That is the range of discussion. That was not true a year ago."He said he has "great sympathy for the politicians and other public figures who are asking the question, 'Why, all of a sudden, is it a big deal?'"
"The answer, of course, is that it was always a big deal. But the bishops were negligent, and in some cases timorous and in some cases, perhaps it is not unkind to say, cowardly," he said.

George Weigel: on the "dramatic confusion in some Catholics’ minds about the Church and its place in a Catholic’s life."
"...Thus when Rhode Island Congressman Jim Langevin says, of the recent debate over Catholic politicians and their position in the Church, “I’m very comfortable with my status, and quite frankly, my relationship with God is direct and personal and the Church is merely a guest in that relationship,” he sounds like an untutored Baptist, not a Catholic. No Catholic who understands the symphonic nature of the truth of Catholic faith can say that the Church is “merely a guest” in his or her relationship with God. If the Church — the body — is “merely a guest,” then what is Christ, the head of the body? Another guest?"

Fr. Pavone (Priests for Life) weighs in on recent voting statements
"Cardinal Ratzinger explicitly states the opposite of what some are saying," said Father Pavone. Press reports falsely suggested that the cardinal's letter said Catholics may vote for pro-abortion candidates because their other positions are favorable. Pavone pointed out that the cardinal explicitly declares in the same letter that other issues do not carry the same weight as abortion.
Pavone concluded, "It is a classic abuse of religion that people will invoke a religious authority to justify violence. There is no act of violence more brutal, or claiming more victims than abortion. It kills 4,000 children daily in the United States alone. Practitioners admit under oath that they dismember and decapitate these babies. If people try to equate that with other issues by misquoting a Vatican Cardinal, they are guilty of the most shameless type of abuse of religion -- the same kind of abuse used to justify burning people at the stake. Only this time, we're talking about babies."

The Forum: Fraud: What Ratzinger didn't say
A good article to clarify what Cardinal Ratzinger really has said...
Amazing how many people, including priests, who can't seem to grasp this simple teaching!

WOLF in SHEEP's CLOTHING
Kerry spoke to a Baptist congregation and called Bush a false prophet. He also used the Good Samaritan story, saying "It is clear: for four years George W. Bush may have talked about compassion but he's walked right by. He's seen people in need but he's crossed over to the other side of the street."
A QUESTION FOR KERRY: As the unborn babies cry for help on the 'side of the road', WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
Not only has Kerry walked on by but he first stops to make sure they are destroyed! Claiming to be a follower of Christ while at the same time suporting and promoting the destruction of innocent life....Kerry, you are the hypocrite, a wolf in sheep's clothing!!!!

Pope John Paul II said it already back in 1995!!
There's too much confusion over the recent 'proportionate reasons' that some have proposed in the upcoming elections. If there are 2 candidates that both fall short of the ideal, you CAN & MUST vote for the more pro life candidate...."limiting its (abortion) evil aspects.
"When it is not possible to overturn or completely abrogate a pro-abortion law, an elected official, whose absolute personal opposition to procured abortion was well known, could licitly support proposals aimed at limiting the harm done by such a law and at lessening its negative consequences at the level of general opinion and public morality. This does not in fact represent an illicit cooperation with an unjust law, but rather a legitimate and proper attempt to limit its evil aspects (n. 73 of the 1995 Encyclical Evangelium vitae)".
In case you still don't get it....Bush (some exceptions) is more pro life than Kerry (100% pro abort!)...Vote Bush!

ARCHBISHOP BURKE: GREAT QUOTE on VOTING...
"The sticking point is this -- and this is the hard part," the archbishop added. "What is a proportionate reason to justify favoring the taking of an innocent, defenseless human life? And I just leave that to you as a question. That's the question that has to be answered in your conscience. What is the proportionate reason?"

WHY SISTERS???
"The Immaculate Heart of Mary sisters, the blue-robed nuns who have educated legions of Catholic children in southeastern Michigan, donated $200 to Emily's List, which raises money for Democratic female candidates who support the right to have abortions."

The True meaning of 'Pro- Choice' : Pro Death
Richards wrote, “I cannot have triplets.... I live in a five-story walk-up in the East Village.... I would have to give up my main income for the rest of the year. I asked the doctor: ‘Is it possible to get rid of one of them? Or two of them?’”

ANGELIC DOCTOR ANSWERS WHY WHEAT BREAD ONLY
Christ is contained in this sacrament, and He compares Himself to a grain of wheat, saying (John 12:24): “Unless the grain of wheat falling into the ground die, itself remaineth alone.” Therefore bread from [grain], i.e. wheaten bread, is the matter of this sacrament… [F]or the use of the sacraments such matter is adopted as is commonly made use of among men. Now among other breads wheaten bread is more commonly used by men; since other breads seem to be employed when this fails. And consequently Christ is believed to have instituted this sacrament under this species [i.e., kind] of bread. Moreover this bread strengthens man, and so it denotes more suitably the effect of this sacrament. Consequently, the proper matter for this sacrament is wheaten bread.(St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica, Part 3, Section 74, Article 3)
